Hounslow Council

Proposed parking scheme - Feltham

In July 2007 we consulted with Feltham residents to get their views on the introduction of a controlled parking zone (CPZ). This consultation revealed support for a CPZ particularly in the streets near Feltham station. As a result of this response, in April 2008 we  held a more detailed consultation.

As in other parts of the borough, the CPZ we are proposing in Feltham will operate through a system of permits for residents and their visitors, and for local businesses. This way, only residents and business permit holders will be able to park in the CPZ when it is in operation.

We understand that people need to shop or visit businesses for short periods, and for this reason we also propose pay and display parking for up to 2 hours. Therefore, people commuting to the station will not be able to park in the CPZ during the operational times.

It must be stressed that a CPZ does not guarantee a parking space outside one’s home or street, but by freeing up spaces that would otherwise have been taken by non-residents, it improves residents’ chances of finding parking near their homes.
