We consulted residents on a possible parking scheme in March and April 2008. The results showed there is support among the respondents for a scheme in a number of roads.
Consequently, it was agreed that a further consultation be carried out on the detail design of a scheme in the roads in favour.
The chosen area and times of operation reflect the views expressed by the responses to the recent consultation. Those roads not in favour of parking controls have been excluded from a possible scheme.
The purpose of this consultation was to provide further information on how the controlled parking zone (CPZ) would operate and to check whether the scheme’s design met your expectations. It also provided the local community with a further opportunity to express their views with the benefit of the details of the scheme before them.
Boston Gardens respondents were not in favour of parking controls. However, the possible introduction of a scheme in the adjacent roads may displace parking into Boston Gardens. Therefore, Boston Gardens’ residents and businesses were given a further opportunity to decide whether they still wish to be excluded from the scheme.
