We are proposing to improve bus-stopping facilities on route 272 at three locations in Grove Park, as follows.
At the north end of Bolton Road, a 27 metre long bus stop clearway would be installed, with a 13 metre hard-standing. The existing Keep Clear markings at the recycling area would be relocated to the end of the bus stop clearway.
On the north end of Spencer Road, the existing bus stop clearway would be extended to 27 metres, with an 18 metre hard-standing. The existing bus shelter would be rotated and reinstalled against the boundary wall at the back of the footway.
At the south end of Bolton Road, the existing 25 metre bus stop clearway would be extended to 29 metres, with a 13 metre hard-standing. A new bus shelter would be installed on a 6 metre hard-standing at the back of the footway.
The new and extended bus stop clearway markings are designed to ensure that buses can always reach the kerb, without obstruction from parked cars. At the south end of Bolton Road, the extended bus stop clearway would ensure sufficient space on those occasions when there are two buses on the stand.
The proposed measures are shown on the attached plans.
Subject to approval by the Chiswick Area Committee at its 3 December meeting, these improvements would be installed in January 2009.
