The pay of Hounslow’s chief executive is set by elected councillors on advice from independent specialists.
The pay scale for the chief executive post is £140,103 to £164,828. No additional performance related pay or bonuses or any other form of income are paid to the post. The national conditions of service for councils require the chief executive to pay 7.5% of her salary into the local government pension scheme.
In 2008 council chief executives in London received pay packages of between £163k and £241k.
