Taking a complaint further

The Local Government Ombudsman is an independent person who investigates allegations of maladministration causing injustice to the person who has complained. The Ombudsman investigates complaints about most council matters including housing, planning, education, social services, and council tax.
If you are dissatisfied with the response after stage 3, you can contact the Local Government Ombudsman who will consider your complaint.
You can contact the Ombudsman at any time to raise your concerns however, you must have completed the council’s complaints procedure before they will will consider them.
