Neighbourhood community safety coordinators

The five neighbourhood community safety coordinators are responsible for:

• taking the lead role in coordinating work around reducing crime.

• anti-social behaviour.

• alcohol and drugs by working with partners and residents in a designated area of the borough.

Neighbourhood community safety coordinators also:

• work in partnership with various agencies including residents to ensure an integrated response to crime, anti-social behaviour, alcohol and drugs problems.

• develop a range of innovative ways to promote community involvement and engagement in the community safety agenda reassuring people that crime is being tackled swiftly in their area.

• ensure diverse communities and hard to reach groups are also engaged in the community safety agenda.

• apply a problem solving approach to tackling neighbourhood issues.

• build public confidence through communication, publicity, visible and effective delivery of community safety initiatives in local neighbourhoods.
