The five neighbourhood community safety coordinators are responsible for:
taking the lead role in coordinating work around reducing crime.
anti-social behaviour.
alcohol and drugs by working with partners and residents in a designated area of the borough.
Neighbourhood community safety coordinators also:
work in partnership with various agencies including residents to ensure an integrated response to crime, anti-social behaviour, alcohol and drugs problems.
develop a range of innovative ways to promote community involvement and engagement in the community safety agenda reassuring people that crime is being tackled swiftly in their area.
ensure diverse communities and hard to reach groups are also engaged in the community safety agenda.
apply a problem solving approach to tackling neighbourhood issues.
build public confidence through communication, publicity, visible and effective delivery of community safety initiatives in local neighbourhoods.
