Hounslow hailed as leading light in community cohesion
Beacon status is granted to authorities who can demonstrate a clear vision, excellent services and a willingness to innovate within a specific theme.
We were recently awarded Beacon status for our outstanding work in the area of cohesive and resilient communities. The Beacon award recognises local government excellence and innovation in improving quality of life for residents and communities. We are now developing a high profile programme of 2 ways learning that will invite local authorities, government departments and organisations locally, sub regionally (WLA) and nationally.
The CCICU has developed the following thematic priorities as Hounslow’s strengths to be showcased for the Beacon Programme:
Promoting British shared values
Hard Talk
Credible Counter-Narrative
Building leaders from hard to reach groups
Engaging with socially excluded communities
The above themes will be delivered via through seminars/conferences/workshops, if you would like help in reference to any of the above theme we would be willing to assist.
We are currently working on conference to engage local communities to address their grievances/concerns on a more ground level.
