Booking and cancellation policy

This page explains the Translation and Interpreting Unit's booking and cancellation policy as of 1 April 2011.

Cancellations

All bookings (except BSL bookings)

  • Cancelled more than 48 hours in advance - no charge

  • Cancelled within 48 hours - 50% charge

  • Cancelled within 24 hours - 100% charge


BSL bookings

  • Cancelled with more than 14 days notice - administration fee applies

  • Cancelled with less than 14 but more than 7 days notice - 50% charge

  • Cancelled with less than 7 days notice - 100% charge

Late bookings

  • A 15% surcharge is payable for short notice bookings (short notice is considered 24 hours for face to face or telephone translations and 48 hourrs for written translations )

Out of hours

  • Out of hours weekdays (5.30pm - 8.30am) and weekends will incur a 50% surcharge (including BSL)

  • Public holidays - will incur a 100% surcharge (including BSL)

Travel

  • Travel expenses have been capped at a maximum of £6 for travel within Hounslow, Ealing and Richmond Boroughs. This cost is included in the first hour of all bookings.

         Travel expenses will be charged at the going rate for travel
         outside of these areas.

General

  • All bookings (internal or external) must have a cost code or purchase order – if you do not have a cost code or purchase order we will be unable to accept your booking

  • All cancellations must be made in writing and these will be confirmed back to clients.
