Unoccupied Property Rating
In general, there will be no business rates to pay for the first three months that a property is empty. After that, an empty property rate of 50% of the bill that would be due on the occupied property will be payable. Industrial buildings, listed buildings amd small properties with rateable values of less than £1900, pay no empty property rates.
Non-Domestic buildings for use by those with disabilites
Non-domestic buildings or parts of non-domestic buildings, which cater for the needs of people with learning disabilities, are not subject to the national non-domestic rates.
