2010 is the fourth year that your council has kept its promise to borough residents of not increasing the level of council tax.
While delivering on that promise we have also been working hard to keep the other big promises made to you.
Today you only have to step outside your door to see the differences we have been able to make to daily lives across the entire borough.
Improvements to parks, libraries and leisure centres, graffiti reduced by half, hundreds of new trees planted; all have been delivered as promised.
By keeping our promises, and by doing more and better, we have been able to improve the environment for everybody who lives or works in the borough.
Our promises to improve waste and recycling services, to bring new investments in community safety and to help deliver more affordable family-sized homes to help growing families have all made a big difference. We have also made a difference by putting more services onto our website www.hounslow.gov.uk so that you can access them 24 hours a day from the comfort of your home. And all promises have been delivered at the same time as we have kept our biggest promise of all; keeping rises in your council tax at zero.
Without you, without your family, friends and neighbours, we would not have delivered as much as we have. It is all of you that have diligently recycled week in week out, it is you that has given up your time to help report graffiti or to let us know where you’d like to see more trees planted.
