Since 31 January 2011, no new Incapacity Benefit claims have been accepted. You should now claim Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) instead.
If you already receive Incapacity Benefit, you will continue to receive it until you are either ineligible or you have transferred over to ESA. This will happen between 2011 and 2014.
There will be some protection for people who received more from Incapacity Benefit than those who receive under ESA.
