Planning constraints

Factors to consider before submitting your application

When you apply for planning permission, you should be aware that there may be planning constraints on the land which could affect your planning application. The London Borough of Hounslow must take these constraints into consideration when assessing your application.

The most common are:

  • Flood Risk

  • Contaminated land

  • Tree Preservation Orders

  • Conservation Areas

  • Article 3 Restrictions on Permitted Development

  • Article 4 Directions

  • Listed Buildings

  • Areas of outstanding natural beauty

If your planning application falls into any of the constraints listed above, additional information relating to that constraint may be requested.

Most planning constraints (circumstances which could affect your property) are shown on the UDP Planning Designations Map
