For several years, Hounslow has been taking action with the aim of understanding and managing the air pollution problems within the Borough.
National measures we measure up against have led to reductions in the amount of pollution produced and should lead to overall improvement in UK pollution levels for several years to come.
The Council has used the information acquired to date to develop a local Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP). The aim is to improve air quality to a level where even the most vulnerable - such as the elderly and the very young - are protected from its health effects.
